POSITION SUMMARY |
Licensed administrators to serve as site principals for middle school summer programming. Responsible for training and supporting a strong summer team that works well together, overseeing the educational quality of the program and implementing the program model to create and maintain the best learning environment for the scholars.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS |
- Program planning (scheduling, community partnerships, family engagement)
- Ability to identify staff learning needs, and design and deliver appropriate individualized or group professional development and coaching to meet needs.
- Program management of daily operations (assign classes, daily schedules for academics and enrichment)
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, and adjust and adapt instructional strategies swiftly given the short duration of summer programs.
- Evidence of efficacy and willingness to be a team player.
- Coordinate a parent/family engagement event
- Work with the staff to support instructional expectations and to maintain “best practice” (data-driven, engaging and differentiated) instructional strategies and resources for staff
- Work with the Site Testing Coordinator, and/or Counselors to ensure uniformity and timeliness of assessments and family reporting
- Ability to manage community partnerships to maximize student learning opportunities for summer through hands-on, real world experiences.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE |
- Administrative degree required
- Bachelor’s degree required
- Valid state teaching certification
- Experience working in a secondary school environment.
- CPR and First Aid instructed (see TalentEd)

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITY |
- Secondary Summer Principal will supervise and support site-based Summer staff
- Responsible for training staff on professional, academic, and behavioral expectations for the site.
- Responsible for submission of staff payroll documentation

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS |

- Location will be at one of the assigned sites: SMS

OTHER DUTIES |
- Administrator Prep Training (1-hour, at your availability during day or after school), mandatory
- Staff Training Dates for Summer - June 11 and June 12, 8a-4p @$15/hr, mandatory
- Other duties as assigned by administrator/supervisor
