POSITION SUMMARY |
- Works collaboratively with special education and classroom teachers, as well as other professionals, to support the academic and social/emotional growth of students, including IEP goals, objectives and/or accommodations.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS |
- Works with individual or small groups of students to reinforce learning objectives and standards.
- Assists with small group learning activities.
- Provides instructional support during online learning.
- Assists with the development of students’ social/emotional skills.
- Supports students in learning classroom/school routines and procedures.
- Provides supervision and a safe environment for students during structured and unstructured times such as lunch, recess, transitions, loading/unloading of buses and any other assigned duties.
- Maintains a positive, professional, solution-focused demeanor at all times.
- Maintains confidentiality.
- Willingness to substitute or perform duties as requested.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE |
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of sixty (60) credit hours from an accredited post-secondary institution or career technical facility; or an Associate’s Degree; or successfully completed the ParaPro assessment.
- Some experience in working with children.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES |
- This position requires periods of standing; some walking, moving, climbing, carrying, bending, kneeling, crawling,reaching, handling, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift 25 lbs.
