Site/Location:  LCS Middle Schools  Reports to: Program Coordinator for The Lynchburg Chapter of The Links, Incorporated Date: 02/21/2024
POSITION SUMMARY

 

This is a 10-month position with approximately 25 hours per week, which includes meeting at each school one day per week from 2:30 p. m. to 5:30 p. m. Evening and occasional weekend hours required as needed. School locations are Paul Lawrence Dunbar School for Innovation, Linkhorne Middle School, and Sandusky Middle School.   Viable applicants are responsible to pay for their background check. This fee is non-refundable.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

 

To coordinate, implement, supervise, and evaluate all aspects of the STEP (Striving to Enhance Potential) with Links Program; Compile and manage student data as related to all program components.

  • Communicates and supervises all programs and activities.
  • Works under the supervision of the Program Coordinator appointed by The Lynchburg (VA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated.
  • Meets regularly with the Program Coordinator.
  • Participates in the student selection process.
  • Conducts orientation meetings for students and their families.
  • Compiles data and documentation needed.
  • Monitors program attendance and participation of students.
  • Submits monthly reports to The Lynchburg (VA) Chapter of The Links, Incorporated and quarterly reports to STEP With Links, Incorporated.
  • Plans and coordinates after school trips and other transportation needs.
  • Coordinates the purchase of materials, supplies.
  • Oversees the USDA snack program.
  • Submits monthly financial requisitions to Lynchburg City Schools.
  • Attends quarterly meetings of STEP With Links, Incorporated. 
  • Provides data-based feedback on the progress of students and families participating in the program.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • An undergraduate degree or coursework in education, counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field preferred.
